A MOMENT IN TIME

Mamas walking!!!!

Hey, Mama is walking on her own:) Thank the Lord. We take so much for granted. How many times do you stop to thank the Lord for a single step that you take, or a breath we breath? My Bible tells me, that this life is but a vapor, that appreath for a little while and vanisheth away.

Let's take the time to thank God for all good things, for they ALL come from Him!!!!! "Thank you Jesus"

mama and her baby boy;)

I want to thank the Lord for Mama. I also thank the Lord for blessing her with so many years upon the earth. She is 81 years old. She has had to endure so much in the past few months. She fell and broke her hip on December first while trying to navigate a dark parking lot at a local restaurant. She had to have surgery that went amazingly well. She then had to deal with a stint of rehabilitation at Heath South. I did not find that to be be a very good venture, to say the least.

My brother in law, Billy and I were able to bring her home for Christmas day. We thank the Lord for those few hours together. Mama had a difficult time leaving her house and family to go back to Health South for her remaining therapy.

When she completed her rehabilitation, she stayed with my sister Dale, until we could complete the remodeling project on her bathroom. That is a posting all of it's on.

I said all of that, to say this. Mama walked on her own Sunday without the use of her walker or any one holding her arm. Praise the Lord!!!!!!

my four sisters and mama

We celebrated Lou's 58th birthday Sunday, May the 17th. Her bday was the prior Thursday, May the 14th. Oh by the way, She is the young lady positioned second in line from the right. She is the second to the oldest girl. Dale the oldest. The short, or should I be politically correct and say, vertically challenged one is Brenda. The baby girl is Pat, positioned on the far left.

We have an older brother that lives on the left cost. He is the eldest of the family and his name is Joe.

Oh, Mama is really the oldest:) Just for the record, mom and dad saved the best for last, ME!!!!! That is right, I am the baby of the family.

Dad has already gone on to Heaven and I sure do miss him sooo much. "Oh the circle want be broken, by and by Lord, by and by."

I love you, Lou!!!!!

marriage is ordained by God

Cathy and I celebrated our 31st anniversary Saturday May the 2nd. I want to take this opportunity to let Cathy know just how much I love and thank my Lord for you.
Cathy, you are my wife, bride, lover, friend, finical adviser, confidant, critic, an understanding heart, my doctor when I am sick, a shoulder for a grown man to cry on, my Saint on this side of the grave, "just call me butter, cause I'm on a roll;~}" you are my spiritual adviser. I could go on with many more adjectives and superlatives to describe my blessing from God, Cathy.
I was telling some of my co-workers about mine and Cathy's 31st anniversary. I received some interesting comments to say the least. One said something to the effect of , "to the same woman?" One said WOW!!!! that is a mild stone this day and age."
I guess the one that I was most taken by was offered by a young woman. She asked if this was the first marriage for both of us. She went on to ask, with a big smile of approval on her face, how many kids do you have? Then she asked a some what troubling question, "do either of you have kids with anyone else?" And of course I affirmed emphatically, NO!!!! She was almost gitty, she told me that she would love to have a real man in her life to take care of her. My Bible tells me that they two become one flesh. It also states that a man that finds a wife finds a good thing. I found a GREAT THING! Cathy. I love you baby.
I am looking forward to many more happy years together with you. All of my heart, Dean
